Bologna, 10 May 2024 – A Sunday from slalom between events that are crowded: on May 12th, albeit at different times, there will truly be something for all tastes and the threatened threat hovers over everything municipal police strike.
Sunday at risk of chaos in Bologna between Gardens and Terraces, Madonna di San Luca and Strabologna
Strabologna
We start in the morning with StraBologna which, with its three routes, will bring a colorful and festive stream around a good part of the centre. The start will sound at 10.30 and the streets, all within the walls, will remain closed to traffic until lunchtime and in any case as long as there are still runners around.

Gardens and Terraces
The always crowded event is underway at the Margherita gardens and will remain until Sunday Gardens and Terraces, a market fair dedicated to greenery, flowers and garden furniture. As always, it will be difficult to move around the ‘Gardens’ area. The many stalls remain open from 10am to 8pm.
Madonna of San Luca
Last, but certainly not in the hearts of the Bolognese, is the climb up the Guardia della hill Madonna of San Luca. After a week between St. Peter’s Basilica and the blessing of the city and the victims of the Suviana power stationthe venerated and beloved icon returns to its sanctuary with a solemn procession that it will leave at 5pm from the center, accompanied by bishop Matteo Zuppi and hundreds of people. The route, marked by tradition, includes stops of blessing in Piazza Malpighi, at Porta Saragozza and at the Meloncello arch. The arrival ‘home’ is scheduled for 8pm. Naturally, along the route the roads are closed to traffic.
Specter strike
Two significant unknowns loom over this complex program: an acronym of the local police officers, the Snater, has announced a strike day. It is not yet clear whether there will really be abstention. And in the evening, but this will only be known after 10.45 pm, mathematical certainty could arrive for the Champions League of Bologna.
