Forlì Monumental Cemetery, new events “In the shade of the cypresses”

(sixth Power) – Forlì – 9 May 2024 – Forlì, 5 May 2024 – The initiative organized by the Department of Culture and with the contribution of the Emilia-Romagna Region “In the shadow of the cypresses”, project of valorization through suggestive thematic visits of the Monumental Cemetery of Forlì, one of the most significant cemetery architectures in Romagna.

The second guided tour appointment which took place on Sunday 5 May was also sold out. The channels that recorded bookings had long since reached “sold out”, the date of 7 April (dedicated to the illustrious figures of the Forlì Risorgimento) had in fact multiplied the requests and expectations of interested citizens.

For this second meeting, visitors were accompanied to discover “monuments and sculptures by famous artists”, as the subtitle of the event states.
Accompanied by the competent guide of ConfGuide Forlì-Cesena Chiara Macherozzi, the public was able to admire and delve into works in marble and bronze by important sculptors and artists such as Roberto de Cupis, Apollodoro Santarelli, Bernardino Boifava and Domenico Rambelli on a journey from late nineteenth-century realism , to the liberty and symbolism of the early twentieth century, to the subsequent trends from the 1930s to the present day.

The next date of the three spring events is scheduled for Sunday 2 June and will be dedicated to the following theme:

-The major donors: the generosity of the people of Forlì in favor of art.
First group 10.30 am; second group at 3.00 pm. Meeting point at the entrance to the Cemetery in via Ravegnana 235.

Given the interest and great participation of the spring visits, the project “In the shadow of the cypresses” curated by the Museums Unit with the support of the Cemetery Services Unit of the Municipality of Forlì and with the contribution of the Emilia-Romagna Region, provided the introduction of an extraordinary format with evening guided tours:

-In the months of July and August, always making use of the narrative voice of a qualified guide, the Monumental Cemetery will be presented and illustrated in its peculiarities at dusk. For the occasion, new cultural-tourist itineraries will be proposed.
