“The statistical survey of tourist presences also in furnished apartments for tourist use (Aaut) is a decisive turning point to stop illegal construction on the Riviera”. This was stated by Fabio Becchi, provincial president of Fiaip of Savona, a trade association that is “always on the front line against the phenomenon of irregular rentals which occurs especially in the summer”.

“Finally the Region has approved a resolution that opens a new course in the tourist accommodation sector. As the Councilor for Tourism Augusto Sartori recalled, until now the survey was limited to accommodation facilities. Now the spotlight is also shining on furnished apartments for tourist use. On the one hand it will be possible to have an even more precise overall picture of the arrivals and presences of tourists on the Ligurian territory, on the other, as mentioned, we will put a stop to irregular situations that have emerged during local police checks throughout the region” .

Taking into account the high number of apartments registered (over 34 thousand in all of Liguria), the activities, as announced by the Region, will be organized in phases: we will start from a group of sample municipalities (Alassio, Levanto, Rapallo and Sanremo ) to be fully operational by 2025. The offices in Piazza De Ferrari will contact the landlords of the apartments concerned from time to time to assist them in carrying out the obligations correctly.

“Naturally – concludes Becchi – our trade association is also ready to do its part by making experience and presence available throughout the provincial territory” as well as the institutions with which a working table is planned for the month of May which will see our college, the financial police and the municipal police commands involved in defining the planned activities necessary for verifying the Citra code which will become the Cin code by the end of the year”.

The Regional Council, on the proposal of the Councilor for Tourism, approved the resolution which launches the statistical survey of tourist presences also in furnished apartments for tourist use (Aaut). Taking into account the high number of apartments registered (over 34 thousand throughout Liguria), the activities will be organized in phases: we will start from a group of sample municipalities (Alassio, Levanto, Rapallo and Sanremo) to reach full capacity by 2025 .
