The press conference called by the Honorable Annalisa Tardino was held this morning, in the presence of the mayor of Agrigento Franco Miccichè, to illustrate the use of the over 8 million euros allocated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to the restoration of the city palace of Agrigento , among the Italian historical and artistic assets that have been identified by the national government for recovery and restoration interventions.
“I am pleased that after 35 years from the first drafting of the project, thanks to the work of Minister Salvini, the funds have arrived to proceed with the restyling of the beautiful city palace, built in the first half of the 17th century by the Dominican fathers, who will be given new life in the interest of the entire community” – declares Annalisa Tardino, MEP of the League. “I thank Mayor Franco Miccichè for the competence he is demonstrating and his tenacity in seeing this project realized, which is part of the broader investment plan planned in terms of infrastructure for Agrigento and the entire province, also in view of the international showcase established by Agrigento Italian Capital of Culture 2025. Among these, I would like to remember the inclusion of the southern ring of Sicily in the European transport network, which also concerns Agrigento and the ports of Porto Empedocle and Licata, the result of my work in the transport commission, as well as the rail connection with Palermo airport. A fundamental piece of this great relaunch plan for the province – concludes Tardino – is the great project of the Agrigento airport, currently being evaluated at the MIT, on which there are no preclusions, and on which we are working, awaiting the evaluations by the relevant bodies, to give this territory the development it deserves”.
Present at the meeting, among others, were the leader of the League in the city council Valentina Cirino, the president of the city council Giovanni Civiltà, the vice president of the Pirandello theater foundation Andrea Cirino, the president of Federalberghi Agrigento Francesco Picarella and the Valle dei airport committee Temples.
