The general strike of workers in the hydraulic-forestry sector working in mountain communities, proclaimed by the unions Fai-Cisl, Flai-Cgil and Uila Campania, will be held tomorrow, May 10th.
The workers will hold a demonstration in Naples in front of Palazzo Santa Lucia, the headquarters of the Region. The decision to activate the mobilization was taken jointly by the general secretaries Bruno Ferraro (Fai-Cisl), Igor Prata (Flai-Cgil) and Emilio Saggese (Uila) following the outcome of the regional table for the protection, management and valorisation of forestry heritage , held last April 18th.
“The discontent registered among workers – the trade unionists say – is tangible and alarming”. “After years of commitment to serving the community – adds a worker – it is simply intolerable to find ourselves once again without prospects for the future”.
“Workers – explain the trade unionists – are fed up with the lack of concrete responses from the Campania Region, which continues to disregard its promises of stabilization and economic and contractual security.
Even though a ban on the use of agency workers for the implementation of the interventions planned with the Depf 2024/2026 was obtained, forestry workers declare themselves increasingly determined to fight for their rights. Tomorrow the hydraulic-forestry workers will take to the streets to ask for more security about their future.
We ask for immediate acknowledgment by the Campania Region and a concrete commitment to put an end to this situation of unsustainable precariousness”.
