The 2024 Giro d’Italia has reached its seventh stage, one of those that for many will count more than others, the 40 kilometer time trial from Foligno to Perugia. A route that does not present any particular dangers except for the last 6km in constant ascent until the finish. Live free-to-air on TV on Rai Sport HD and Rai 2, in live streaming on RaiPlay.

Will it be Filippo Ganna’s day? Everyone is expecting the INEOS man to be the first among the favorites for this time trial who will also give further indications for the general classification. Because if Top Ganna can take the day’s success without hopes of a final podium in Rome, it is also true that all eyes will be on Pogacar who will have to confirm that he can have his say not only in the mountains but also in the stages against the clock.

The 7th stage of the Giro d’Italia: route and altimetry of the Foligno-Perugia

A time trial route that remains unchanged for almost 35 kilometers on a totally flat route where the best will be able to unleash the maximum of their power. Then, in the final part a bit of pathos with the last 6 kilometers in constant ascent, which begins in Ponte Valleceppi: heavy in the very first stretch of 1.5 hm and then becomes more pedalable up to Perugia.

Where does the Corsa Rosa pass and at what time: timetables

Today’s time trial will start from Foligno at 1pm sharp when the first of the cyclists will start. Then, gradually, all the others, one at a time until the last one following the general classification in reverse, with Tadej Pogacar in the pink jersey who will start at 4.22pm. The Slovenian’s arrival is confirmed in Perugia around 5.10pm. There will be two split times on the route: the first is in Santa Maria degli Angeli at kilometer 18.6, the second in Ponte Valleceppi right at the foot of the climb of the last 6km.

The favorites to win today’s stage

For the first time trial of the 2024 Giro, the number one favorite is our Filippo Ganna, INEOS standard-bearer for races against the clock. We will have to see the actual form of the Italian champion who should have no rivals over today’s 40 kilometres. The usual Pogacar also defends himself very well, having improved in time and can masterfully defend himself from attempts of the day to attack him.

Where to watch the Giro d’Italia on free-to-air TV and streaming

All stages of the Corsa Rosa will be broadcast on TV, free-to-air, on the Rai channels (Rai Sport HD and Rai Due) and by paid subscription for Eurosport users. It will also be visible in free streaming on RaiPlay and by subscription on Discovery+, NOW, SkyGo and DAZN.
