A serious accident occurred yesterday in Lutago, in the Aurina Valley, where an eight-year-old boy was hit immediately after getting off the school bus. The little boy is currently hospitalized in critical condition at Bolzano hospital.
According to initial reconstructions, the child was hit by a Fiat Panda and subsequently thrown against a van, ending up under the vehicle. The emergency services intervened immediately: firefighters, White Cross and traffic police arrived on site, while the Pelikan 2 air ambulance transported the child first to the hospital in Brunico and then, given the seriousness of his condition, to that of Bolzano.
This tragic event brings to mind another serious accident which also occurred in Lutago in January 2020, when seven pedestrians lost their lives in similar circumstances. The authorities are now investigating to clarify the dynamics of the accident and establish any responsibilities.
