«Sannio to taste», Confindustria brings tradition to “Cibus”

There are also eight Samnite companies among those that, with the initiative of Confindustria Benevento «Sannio to taste», participate in the Cibus 2024, the international food fair which ends today in Parma. Since 7 May, Avicola Mauro, Cillo, Euvitis 21 Agriculture, Territory and Development, Fabbriche Riunite Torrone di Benevento, L’Arte dei Sapori, La Vinicola del Titerno, La Violetta, Settemisure, have brought thirty-two product references to Emilian soil. A certainly ambitious project by Confindustria, which has granted the «Sannio da gusto» brand to companies that produce, in our territory, with Samnite (Gold line) or Italian (Standard line) raw materials, and which pursues, among its objectives main ones, that of valorising local productions whose supply chain can be traced. Not only.

THE IDEA

«At this first step – he explains Giuseppe Maurovice president of Confindustria Benevento with delegation to the food sector – others will follow. Among them, certainly, there is the goal of going abroad. This is why the format is well structured and makes use of high-level professional figures, for the valorisation and protection of our products, and of export managers who maintain contacts, specifically with foreign countries”. More: «We also aim to occupy a substantial space in large-scale retail trade». «Sannio da gusto», was born in 2016 and is the second time it has participated in Cibus. If in the past it could be defined as a sort of experimentation, “today – underlines Mauro – it is a solid certainty”. «The logic behind “Sannio da Gustare” is to group together under a single brand the food processing companies whose supply chain can be traced», continues the number two of Confindustria Benevento who is keen to remember that «the project was strongly supported by the president of Confindustria, Oreste Vigorito, and which today has taken on a structure and organization capable of responding to the demands of the national and foreign market, which is increasingly attentive to quality. Presence at Cibus represents – according to Mauro – one of the stages through which the initiative is being developed which involves participation in sector fairs, sales in interested food outlets and an export program which is already bringing the first results. The branded products are equipped with a special numbered guarantee and control sticker”. Exports from the food sector have grown by over 9% in the last year, are aimed above all at European markets and have strong expansion potential which must be supported and strengthened with ad hoc projects.

«Sannio da Gustare» responds to this need by grouping quality products in the segment of meat and its derivatives, wine, oil, baked goods, ice cream and nougats, jams, saffron and oil. Cibus is the most important fair dedicated to Italian agri-food. A B2B event dedicated to professional visitors, coming from different sectors of interest for the agri-food sector: Large-scale distribution, Ho.Re.Ca & Food Service. As part of the fair, distributors and importers of the Ho.Re.Ca channel from various countries including Greece, France and Eastern European countries showed particular interest in branded products. Made in Italy, of which Sannio is a full part, is increasingly present on tables all over the world, aware of its leading role in terms of quality and sustainability.
