The weekend’s events

Cuneo – European market
From May 10th to 12th

European and non-European exhibitors will exhibit and sell their typical products, making available the best of their food and wine and artisanal productions. The event will take place from 10th to 12th May in Piazza Galimberti, from 9am to 11pm. Sunday, 12th May, extraordinary market, all day, in Corso Nizza.

Cuneo Pride, Exhibition
Until Saturday 11 May

In preparation for Cuneo Pride, last May 3rd the exhibition of panels dedicated to the history of the LGBTQIA+ movement “Cuneo Pride: a community on display” was inaugurated in Santa Croce. In the exhibition spaces some people will be ready to accompany visitors on their visit, telling the facts narrated on the panels. Free entry. Arcigay’s exhibition on the history of the Movement saw its first installation at the Palafiori in Sanremo in 2022, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the demonstration on 5 April 1972. Until 11 May it will also be exhibited in Cuneo, to tell the story history through news events, the gestures of people who have become icons of change. Thanks to the patronage and collaboration of the Municipality of Cuneo, the Equal Opportunities Department, the exhibition is set up in Santa Croce to take advantage of the good visibility of the city. Open from Thursday to Sunday at the following times: Thursday and Friday 4-7.30pm, Saturday and Sunday from 3pm to 7.30pm.

Cuneo – Not very irreverent songs
Saturday 11 May

On Saturday 11 May at 8.20 pm, in the auditorium of the Spazio Varco (via Pascal 5L, Cuneo), “Canzoni poco irreverenti” will be held, a concert which celebrates the richness and variety of Italian song and which was entirely conceived and created by students of the Ghedini Conservatory, under the aegis of the Student Council. Participation is free and there is no need to book. There are eighteen Ghedini students who collaborate in the performance: the fourteen musicians who will take turns on stage, enrolled in different study courses at the Conservatory, are joined by four sound engineers, students of the METS Department. It is precisely the involvement of so many students that makes the evening special, organized independently by the musicians involved. HERE for information.

Mondovì – Testaments, the legacy of an encounter
Saturday 11 May

On Saturday 11 May, at 6.00 pm, at the Church of San Fiorenzo in Bastia Mondovì, a show will be held in favor of Avsi, an association that deals with personal development projects in Italy and abroad. The show, entitled “Testaments – the legacy of an encounter”, includes readings of texts and author’s music performed live. Free admission.

Busca – Concert
Saturday 11 May

The “Note + Genti = Meraviglie” concert awaits you on Saturday 11 May at 8.45pm in Busca, at the Civic Theatre: an evening of music and songs taken from soundtracks, performed by young musicians. Free entry, with a free donation to support participation in Genfest 2024, scheduled from 12 to 24 July in Brazil, where thousands of young people from all over the world will converge. Savigliano – Piano Festival
Saturday 11 May

Saturday 11 May at 9.00 pm in Savigliano, in the evocative setting of Palazzo Taffini, 7th edition of the Piano Festival: concert with Song Danyang on the piano. In collaboration with Civ. Mus. Dronero – “Doodles” review
Saturday 11 May

Saturday 11 May new appointment of the theater and cinema festival “Scarabocchi” at the Iris cinema theater in Dronero, with the screening of the film “Amanda”. First film by Carolina Cavalli with Benedetta Porcaroli and Galatea Bellugi, it was shot entirely in Turin and then presented in the Orizzonti Extra section of the 2022 Venice Film Festival. Saluzzo – Comedy in Piedmontese
Saturday 11 May

On Friday 10 May and Saturday 11 May at 9pm, a three-act comedy in Piedmontese language “Cola bonanima ed Cesarin Capissa” by Nino and Pio Bertalmia will be staged at the Cinema Teatro Magda Olivero in Saluzzo, brought to the stage by the “Dla Vila” of Verzuolo. Chiusa di Pesio – Archeo Playtime
Saturday 11 May

On Saturday 11 May Chiusa di Pesio hosts Archeo Playtime, a day in which children aged six and over can play and learn. Archeoplay enhances the great archaeological heritage of the province of Cuneo through game-based strategies that lead children and families to discover history and places. Caraglio – Free zone
Saturday 11 May

The Season organized by Santibriganti Teatro returns to the Civic Theaters of Caraglio, Busca and Dronero. A new program entitled “Zona Franca” with shows between November 2023 and May 2024. Saturday 11 May h. 21 at the Teatro Civico di Caraglio “IL TESTAMENT”, one-act from “Due voci” by Danilo Reschigna with Maria Silvia Caffari and Danilo Reschigna. Cherasco – Personal exhibition
Until May 19th

The ancient rooms of Palazzo Salmatoris will host the exhibition until May 19th “Roberto Demarchi. Of nature”, organized by the Cherasco Cultura Association in collaboration with the Municipality. The exhibition is a journey that winds from “Perì Physeos” (which reflects on the birth of Western thought and in particular on that of the pre-Socratic philosophers) to the section “Art and the Sacred. Abstract Gospels”, from the “Hermeneutics of art” (in which Demarchi interprets works of the figurative, musical and literary arts of great masters of the past through the use of his own pictorial language) to the “Genesis of art” («The history of art seen through the eyes of a painter -philosopher who chose to play alone in the borderlands”, wrote the great critic Antonio Paulucci in this regard) until reaching some of the artist’s early works, which declare his first moments and interests dedicated to drawing and painting . Born in Turin, Roberto Demarchi was a professor of art history, while practicing the profession of architect. Over the years, he has cultivated an in-depth study of philosophy, literature and music, alongside his activity as a lecturer.

The exhibition will be open to visitors, with free admission, on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3pm to 7pm; Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 3pm to 7pm. For information contact the Municipality’s tourist office on 0172-42.70.50.

Cuneo – Anti-war show
Sunday 12 May

The theater show will be staged on Sunday 12 May at 9pm at the Toselli Theater in Cuneo. “Against War”, curated by Francesca Elena Monte, with the students of the Stage – Performing Arts Center courses, video Cece Mannazza and paintings by Piero Reggio. The entire proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Emergency. HERE for info.

Outdoor free festival
Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May

The first edition of OFF – Outdoor Free Festival awaits you on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May, a two-day event of sport and promotion of the riches of the five municipalities of the Unione Montana Mondolè (Frabosa Sottana, Frabosa Soprana, Pianfei, Roccaforte Mondovì, Villanova Mondovì). Outdoor sports will range from E-Bike, MTB, trekking, yoga, horse riding, bouldering and climbing. The Frabosa Soprana Marble Ecomuseum is also taking part, offering an excursion to the Verzino quarry on the afternoon of Saturday 11 May, meeting at 2.30pm in Piazza Municipio in Frabosa Soprana. Fossano – Marco Polo, symphonic fable
Sunday 12 May

Saturday 12 May at 9.00 pm in the Aula Magna of the IIS Vallauri in Fossano, “Marco Polo – Symphonic fable”, musical fable for narrator and wind and percussion orchestra. Director Gianpiero Brignone, narrator Ugo Fea. Free entry while places last. For information: Fossano Musica Foundation.

Demonte – Guided tours
Sunday 12 May

Guided tours of Palazzo Borelli, a seventeenth-century palace, a symbolic place in the history of Demonte and the Lalla Romano space, a writer and painter originally from the town. Sunday 12 May 2024 at 10.30am and 3.30pm. HERE for info and reservations.

Garessio – Visits to the Castle
Sunday 12 May

An opportunity to learn the secrets of the Casotto Castle: on Sunday 12 May it will be possible to immerse yourself in nature and cross the centuries-old woods that surround this extraordinary Royal Residence, located in Garessio (CN) in Val Casotto at 1,090 meters above sea level, a hunting lodge of the Savoy family. Duration of the excursion: 1h45min of actual walking (difference in altitude 130 metres, distance 2.3 km one way, difficulty T – Tourist according to the CAI scale). Duration of the guided tour of the Casotto Castle: 1h15min. Cost of the tour (excursion + guided tour of the Castle): 20 euros per participant + possible “gourmet” picnic basket (payment on site). Reservation required by 6pm on the Friday before the visit. The excursion can also be carried out in light rain (bring an umbrella or waterproof cape). Details HERE.

Faule – Po Festival
From May 10th to 12th

From Friday 10th to Sunday 12th May the 25th edition of the Po Festival will take place in Faule! Spring event dedicated to gastronomy with lunches and dinners based on river fish, but also to raise awareness of its naturalistic peculiarities in contact with the flora and fauna. There are many gastronomic, cultural and musical initiatives, as well as the craft and antiques market with typical products. For nature lovers, the non-competitive walk and the cycling route that will run through the wildlife area on the banks of the Po are unmissable. HERE is the complete programme.
