Afi: ‘Sanremo can go to Nove’

Rome – “Important news” emerges from a long legal battle conducted by Afi, the Association of Italian record producers and continued by the record label JE: “The TAR of Liguria accepted our requests, ordering the publication of the Agreements between the Ligurian Municipality , Rai and Rai Pubblicità” and “it clearly emerges from the documents that the Sanremo Festival can go to Channel Nine under the Warner Bros. Discovery channel. Together with the well-known artistic director”.

This is what the president of the Legal and Institutional Affairs Commission of the Italian Phonographic Association, Sergio Cerruti, claims. “Three years later, with the other trade associations mysteriously disappearing and the large multinationals more interested in titles of artistic merit than in economic recognition, only to then complain about the costs behind the scenes, we can finally say that we have had access to all the economic and organizational documents of the Festival which, until now, the Municipality and Rai had kept hidden”, declares Sergio Cerruti, former president of Afi who now chairs the Legal Affairs Commission of the same association and is CEO of JE. According to Cerruti, “the secrecy of the agreements and its economic values has undermined a fundamental right of access to information regarding an event of such great cultural, media and obviously economic importance and has opened doubts on the methods of awarding the Festival”.
