Bergamo was full of people on this Thursday morning thanks to an unexpected sun in the face of decidedly different forecasts.
The central streets of Lower Bergamo show almost no sign of this evening’s imminent, very important confrontation. Very different from the other European semi-final in 1988 against Malines, when the center was seething with black and blue colours, perhaps a secondary and unwanted effect of the “habit” that Gasperini led us to Europe. But we have no doubt in the slightest that our team will be heard in the stands this evening.
There are very few Marseille fans at the moment, no more than a dozen gathered in the usual meeting place, Piazzale Alpini near the station. Almost all young people, perhaps some older fans seem to be there to admire and photograph the beauties of the city but it is difficult to distinguish them from others. You certainly don’t hear French being spoken around.
Having said that, the center is still patrolled and let’s hope that the rowdy organized Marseille fans keep quiet later on

The Marseille fans are gathering in Piazzale Alpini. There are many sirens in circulation but at the moment there are no reports of trouble.
The very central via Papa Giovanni is blocked by the express train in the part that goes from the station to the intersection with via Angelo Maj, in practice the piece of road in front of Piazzale Alpini where the French are converging
