PLEASURE. The tragic death toll from the road accident which occurred this morning shortly after 7.30 in Piacenza, in the Nure Sud service area in the Mortizza area, along the A21 motorway, towards Cremona, is one dead and seven intoxicated.

According to what was reconstructed by the traffic police, the truck carrying several large cans containing paracetic acid hit a car which was in the side lane leading to the Mortizza service station.
The 52-year-old truck driver who was driving the heavy vehicle died instantly in the crash: the man is a resident in the province of Pavia. The passengers and the driver of the Volkswagen Scirocco, two women and a man were injured and intoxicated by the fumes released by the acid. Four other people, who were traveling in another car, tried to help the injured and were also intoxicated.
