Saturday 11 May, “Going to exhibitions” ideally brings the public to Faenza to discover the exhibition dedicated to the great architect, artist and designer Gio Ponti. The appointment is at 5pm, in the Oratory room of Palazzo dei Musei (in Largo Sant’Agostino), and entry is free.

“Going to exhibitions” is the exhibition curated by the Poletti Library which presents the current exhibitions in Italy with the participation of the curators and directors of the exhibition spaces that host them.

Presented by Claudia Casali, director of the International Ceramics Museum of Faenza, the exhibition “Gio Ponti. Ceramiche 1922-1967” traces the indissoluble bond between the Milanese architect and designer, with a multifaceted and creative personality, and the Italian art ceramics of the first half of the twentieth century which materialized, in particular, in the products of the famous Richard- Ginori, of which Ponti was artistic director. With over two hundred works, including ceramics, glass, furniture and drawings, the exhibition illustrates the successes of the inventor and promoter of “made in Italy” in the field of art and design, with special attention to collaborations with manufacturers Italian ceramics. The exhibition at the Mic in Faenza is open until 13 October (https://www.micfaenza.org/event/gio-ponti-inventore-del-made-in-italy). The catalogue, published by Dario Cimorelli, is available for consultation at the Poletti library.

“Going to exhibitions” ends on Saturday 25 May with the appointment dedicated to the “Escher” exhibition underway in Ferrara.
