FORLÌ – Forlì doesn’t give up and, after two failures, also tries to appeal to the Coni Guarantee Board for the Cecotti case. The story, as reported by today’s Carlino Forlì, was inspired by the complaint presented by the Viale Roma club in relation to the Carpi-Forlì match (2-1) on 21 April. Forlì was asking for the Emilians to be defeated for having irregularly deployed the player Tommaso Cecotti, who would not have correctly served his suspension following the cancellation of the match against Pistoiese, a club ousted from the championship. A request which, however, the first instance judge deemed unfounded, consequently validating the result achieved on the field. Decision subsequently challenged by the complainant, but confirmed by the Sports Court of Appeal, according to which «the principles of certainty and stability in the execution of sanctions cannot allow posthumous modifications of the effect of the player’s non-participation in a match in the face of subsequent measures (not judicial for the cancellation of the single match, but administrative) of exclusion of the opposing club from the championship and related ‘virtual’ regulation of the consequences on the ranking”. Now Forlì has broken through the hesitation and decided to go all the way, as can be seen from the very brief note issued by the company which “considers this decision necessary and dutiful, convinced that it is seeking justice”. Specifically, the appellant (i.e. Forlì) requests, as a precaution, to order the suspension of the contested decision and, consequently, the suspension of the playoffs of the Serie D championship (group D), scheduled for Sunday 12 May and Sunday 19 May , until the finalization of the judgment; subordinately, it requests that the parties be heard before 12 May. On the merits, however, Forlì asks to ascertain and declare the illegitimacy of the decision pronounced by the National Sports Court of Appeal, which, in turn, confirmed the provisions of the sports judge in reference to the Cecotti case, and for the effect, to order the annulment of the decision itself, as well as to ascertain and declare the violation of the art. 21, paragraph 4, of the code of sporting justice and to impose on Carpi the penalty of losing the match by default. Today, meanwhile, the National Amateur League should decide whether or not to block the start of the playoffs. Obviously, Ravenna is also particularly interested in the issue: for Forlì, admission to the playoffs is at stake, for the Giallorossi even direct promotion to Serie C with Carpi who would be -1 behind the Romagna and should thus play the playoffs.
