interview with Diodato – la Ringhiera

L’“Mary Help of Christians” Institute of Taranto yesterday, Wednesday 8 May, experienced a special event during which the sixth grade students had the joy of interviewing Antonio Diodato during a beautiful and interesting video call.

As part of a multidisciplinary educational work entitled “Let’s meet in Taranto” the students, who wanted to create a historical-artistic-cultural journey for an ad hoc website, also decided to include some well-known and illustrious people from Taranto. So here is the chat in class with Antonio Diodato, who recently received the “David di Donatello” award for the best original song. “La mia terra” within the soundtrack of the film “Palazzina Laf”. Could it represent our city?

The singer-songwriter, speaking with the students, spoke about the Sanremo Festival, stating that he immediately understood that that success could not be his alone… but of the entire Taranto as a source of inspiration.

‘The message that the young people have understood is that, to stir consciences, it is necessary – explain the Institute’s management – “travel, open your horizons” without forgetting the “own roots”, “like trees” which have deep roots and branches reaching towards the sky to see new dreams flourish. At the end of the interview the students revealed that they were impressed by the great sensitivity and humility of the artist from Taranto, as emerges from his songs and his spontaneous and natural way of communicating and that meetings like this can encourage young people from Taranto not to give up for the future of a city that must be reborn thanks to the love and care of its infinite beauties’ conclude from the Maria Ausiliatrice Institute of Taranto which kindly provided the photo we are publishing.
