Work well and immediately on the creation of a large-area Destination Management Organization (DMO) for the province of Salerno. This is forcefully requested by CNA Salerno Turismo, through its president Rosario D’Acunto, ready to sign, together with Confesercenti Salerno and other important partners, the unique proposal for the province of Salerno for the establishment of a Destination Management Organization, the organizations for the Management of Tourist Destinations, who work and collaborate with institutions and tourism operators to develop and improve the tourist offer of the destination, create new experiences, attractions and services that meet the needs of visitors.

“The DMOs, however, need organic development and the support of the institutional supply chain otherwise there is a risk of generating chaos. For this reason also through the provincial president Lucio Ronca, who has always been attentive to tourism strategies so much so that he wanted the presence of a representative of craftsmanship within the specific commission of the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno, the CNA asks to immediately start a process of discussion and constructiveness. For Ronca and D’Acunto it is necessary to immediately establish coordination at a local and regional level on the DMO chapter, of which the guidelines from the Campania Region are expected by the summer, as announced by the Councilor for Tourism, Felice Casucci”, the association says.

“We appeal to the entire institutional chain – declared the president of CNA Turismo and CNA Salerno – to establish a control room that involves the business world and their major representatives”.

What also worries the association representing the artisans is the chaos that is being generated and which risks frustrating the objective of an integrated and system-wide tourist offer which the DMOs aim for. “We are witnessing forward races, the proliferation of DMO constitutions when even the guidelines of the Campania Region are missing – the secretary of CNA Salerno, Simona Paolillo, pointed out – we need to be serious and coordinated, we need to engage in discussion and in the construction of a tourist offer that raises the bar compared to an increasingly demanding and sophisticated demand. DMOs are based on unity of purpose and sharing of paths, not on overlaps and crowding, which risk generating further confusion. The tourist offer of our province is at an important crossroads. Believing in DMOs and working together means a turning point: the future is here.”
