ADRIA – They go off extraordinary social safety nets for the workers of Vittoria shipyard. The company signed an agreement at the Ministry of Labor on Monday 6 May for the start of the extraordinary redundancy fund, pursuant to article 44 of the Legislative Decree. 109/18 with effect from 1 May and until 31 December 2024. This is the salient fact of the working table organized in Venice to analyze the situation faced by the Adria area specialized in design and construction of military vessels, paramilitary and commercial and transport and the prospects for the factory in via Leonardo da Vinci.

THE SUMMIT
The meeting, called by the Region, coordinated by Giuliano Bascetta of the Veneto Lavoro Corporate Crisis Unit, saw the participation of the Regional Labor Directorate, the company and its consultants; Confindustria Veneto Est, the trade unions Fiom Cgil, Fim Cisl and Uilm Uil of Rovigo and workers’ representatives were also present. The Municipality of Adria had not been invited. During the summit, the events that led to the current crisis were recalled, which sees the company involved in presenting a restructuring plan. The table shared the goal of shipyard rescue and the skills of 53 workers currently headed by the company, a high-profile industrial reality. Of these 53 employees, 27 are workers, 21 employees, 3 apprentices and two managers. In addition to the activation of extraordinary social safety nets, an agreement was signed between the company and the social partners for regional policies that may be aimed at workers at risk.
«The previous events – we read in a note issued by the Region at the end of the meeting – have caused a loss of competitiveness of the company also due to external factors, such as the increase in the costs of raw materials and energy. Significant economic returns and promising prospects would still exist with particular reference to boats and orders”.

RELAUNCH PATH
The company top management would look to these market horizons for the relaunch of the company which will necessarily have to see the entry of new investors whose research would proceed unabated. However, times are tight: the end of production activity is set for the end of July. From what has emerged, Vittoria possesses important industrial skills, certifications and market spaces which have currently attracted the attention of two industrial entities who have signed confidential agreements with the company.
The trade unions and Confindustria Veneto Est have expressed full willingness to support the relaunch process also through the search for further replacements. As requested by the parties present, the Veneto Region, also through the Corporate Crisis Unit, will be committed to supporting and monitoring the process. The next meeting is scheduled for June 11th.
«They thank councilor Elena Donazzan and doctor Bascetta – underlined the Uil provincial coordinator Gino Gregnanin and the general secretary of Uilm, Mirco Bolognesi Opellio – for having convened the regional table. We are working to save the historic Adria company and the professional skills of the 53 employees. We hope we can relaunch the company with the entry of a new investor.”
