5-a-side football Preview – Rho, match against Quartu. Captain Migliano: “Playoffs? A prize for us, we will play them with serenity”

Predictions subverted in the Lombard playoffs, which saw the team that started in the worst position victorious, Rho Futsal (fifth), capable of imposing itself in the semi-final on the Chignolese pitch (second) and in the final on a neutral pitch in the Gorgonzola stadium against its neighbors of Casa del Mazzo (fourth).

Now Rho Futsal will play the national playoffs for promotion to Serie B by facing Sardinian Quartu on 11 and 25 May.

-How satisfying was it to win the playoffs in Lombardy?

“As newly promoted – explains the captain and top scorer of the C1 Gabriele Migliano – we had many players who had never played in the C1. There were two objectives at the start of the season: to have a good championship by qualifying for the playoffs, while also trying to reach the Final Four of the Italian Cup and both objectives were achieved. Winning the Lombard playoffs was an immense satisfaction, because this club is above all a group of friends who started 3 or 4 years ago with the aim of having fun and improving year after year without distorting the squad and our philosophy. And so also in C1 we maintained the squad, with the only 2 reinforcements being Cimmino and Villa. For this double satisfaction because also in terms of budget we spent much less than our rivals.”

-With what spirit will you play the national playoffs now?

“With great serenity and tranquility, aware that we have come a long way. The national playoffs are a reward for all of us who have earned ourselves on the pitch, but we will still try to give our all and do the best we can, because we don’t set limits and we want to win this competition too.”
