Salerno. New bins for separate waste collection at the cemetery

To improve the quality of separate waste collection in the cemetery area, the removal of old wheeled bins began this morning and new ones will be positioned. To prevent them from being used improperly, stations have been set up, each made up of three bins with different colored lids (brown, yellow and grey), as required by the legislation on minimum environmental criteria. The bin with the brown lid is intended for organic and compostable bioplastics, the one with the gray lid for non-differentiable and the one with the yellow lid for multi-material (plastic, steel, aluminium, beverage carton). Each bin will have a sticker showing the list of objects that can be placed in it and those that absolutely do not go there. The stations, 93 in number, for a total of 279 wheeled bins, will be positioned next to the fountains, at the intersections of the avenues and in the pitches. Visitors who will have to dispose of waste will thus have the opportunity to sort it correctly at the time of disposal. “With this initiative we are reorganizing the collection in the pious place, adapting it to what already happens in the rest of the municipal territory, and equipping the cemetery area with new bins to replace the existing ones, many of which are now worn out”, underlined Vincenzo Bennet, sole administrator of Clean Salerno. The project will be implemented in two phases, approximately twenty days apart. “The commitment to separate waste collection, the results of which have placed our city in the high positions of the national ranking, does not stop. With this project we also contribute to giving greater decorum to the cemetery”, commented the municipal councilor for the environment Massimiliano Natella
