A vast traffic of doping substances between China and Italy based in the Republic of San Marino. This is the discovery the Nas made 11 precautionary measures, ordered by the investigating judge of the Court of Rimini. The measures applied are against people suspected, for various reasons, of criminal association aimed at trafficking of doping substances, even with a narcotic effect (largely nandrolone). Not only. The investigation began in June 2021 when, following a report from the Customs Agency, a shipment containing quantities of anabolic substances. The investigative activity also saw the collaboration of San Marino Gendarmerie Corps. The operation made it possible to identify a structured organization, based in the State of San Marino, which dealt with trafficking of doping substances throughout the national territory. Not only. International relations were also extensive: anabolic steroids, stimulants, anorectics and erectile dysfunction products – coming from China – they arrived in Italy through the Germany in the form of powders. Then the final product was transferred to a warehouse in San Marino where it came from shipped, from unsuspecting couriers, to local vendors distributed across the country. The substances were produced in the clandestine laboratory and were often transported to the storage warehouse hidden inside the spare wheels.
The investigation led to seizures 26 bottles of the “rape drug”, 1,200 vials of nandrolone, 20 kg of ephedrine (precursor to methamphetamine), 400 kg of active ingredients for the production of anabolics, steroids and growth hormones. And beyond 700 thousand tablets already packaged and ready for sale. Among the customers, who have been loyal for years now, there were gym goers, body building professionals and young people eager to improve their physique. The substances came prepared to order through encrypted messages on Whatsapp and Telegram. But they were also there web platforms dedicated where you could register and choose the prohibited product.
