A twinning in the name of sport and culture between the IC “Giuseppe Grassa” and the IC “GG Ciaccio Montalto” of Trapani. On Monday 6 May the second stage of the twinning between the IC “Giuseppe Grassa” of Mazara del Vallo and the IC “GG Ciaccio Montalto” of Trapani, two institutes that join the National Network of Sports Curvature Schools. A day organized under the banner of sharing sporting values, friendship, sociality and culture, achieved thanks also to the generous contribution of the Sicily Region.

Warmly welcomed in the historic center by our students, the guests observed with curiosity the exceptional architectural heritage of Mazara. The visit led by guide Paolo Ayed to the Satyr museum is unmissable. The delegation continued the walk, crossing the characteristic fish market, the beating heart of the city, and walking along the road that runs along the Mazzaro river, until arriving at the gym of the IC “Giuseppe Grassa” where the managers were waiting for them of both institutes. In her welcome speech, the Headmaster of the host school, Dr. Mariella Misuraca, underlined the importance of the twinning experience, which allows one to develop relationships, to discover new perspectives, to strengthen the sense of community, preparing the new generations to be aware citizens open to the world.

The presence of the director of the IC “Ciaccio Montalto” of Trapani, Dr. Anna Maria Sacco, was very welcome, as in her speech she highlighted the importance of the training and innovative proposal regarding sports enhancement, finally donating the “United States” souvenir plaque to the school. in sport”. The sporting and inclusive activity was carried out in the gym and on the five-a-side football pitch. The races kicked off in an atmosphere full of joy and healthy competitive spirit. The element of competition has always been associated with a sense of mutual respect and fair play.

At the end of the sports games, the young athletes gathered to enjoy a healthy and tasty snack, make new friends and consolidate the ties between the two communities. A truly exciting and precious moment! A special thank you goes to the teachers of the IC “Grassa” who dedicated themselves to the success of the event: the Physical Education teachers, the profs. M. Marina Giacalone and Giuseppe Giacalone, the class coordinator teachers, prof. Maria Caterina Vitale and Susanna Castelli, the support teachers prof.
