The busy calendar of events organized at Carroponte will begin on Saturday 11 May. The Municipality of Sesto San Giovanni has issued a union ordinance prohibiting the sale, administration and consumption of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, in glass bottles and cans, in the external areas of the Carroponte (via Venezia, Carducci, Granelli and Milanese).
Specifically, we read in the ordinance, “the sale in glass containers or cans, even for takeaway, of alcohol, spirits and other drinks from 5pm to 7am” will be prohibited. The administration of alcohol, spirits and other drinks, in glass containers or cans, will be permitted «only if consumption in the aforementioned containers takes place inside the premises and areas of the public establishment or in the external public areas pertaining to the activity , legitimately authorized to occupy public land”. Failure to comply will be punished with a fine varying between 25 and 500 euros.
«The concert season is upon us, and this is always a positive aspect for our city – explained the mayor Roberto Di Stefano -, as long as everything happens with full respect for others and the rules. The ordinance just signed goes exactly in this direction: we protect and enhance the right to enjoy great musical events but we also stimulate civic sense, so that enjoyment does not result in behavior that could harm others.”
