Spice. From 15 to 17 May 2024, La Spezia is preparing to become the capital of nautical design with the Blue Design Summita new event dedicated to the design, construction and refitting of superyachts.

A center of excellence for world boating. The Summit, promoted by the Municipality of La Spezia, MiglioBlu, the Port System Authority of the Eastern Ligurian Sea and other important bodies in the sector, aims to establish itself as a point of reference for the global nautical industry, enhancing Italian excellence in terms of quality and design.

Focus on design and planning. The Blue Design Summit differs from other nautical events for its specific attention to design and planning, key elements of Made in Italy in the superyacht sector. The event will be an opportunity to delve into sector trends, exchange ideas with the main players in the supply chain and enhance the talent of Italian designers.

A program full of events. The three-day Summit will be full of events, including conferences, workshops and round tables dedicated to current issues such as the mutual influences between nautical design and architecture, new trends in shapes, external lines and habitable spaces, sustainability with a focus on sailing superyachts, materials and propulsion, and residential yachting.

The Blue Mile Design Award. To crown the primacy of Italian design, the Summit will host the Miglio Blu Design Award, awards given to designers, journalists and industry experts by a high-level jury.

An opportunity for La Spezia. The Blue Design Summit represents an important opportunity for La Spezia to consolidate its role as the world nautical capital and to promote the Blue Mile project, an ambitious initiative which aims to transform the city into a nautical district of excellence.
