As part of the initiatives promoted to encourage the culture of legality among local young people, i Carabinieri of the Reggio Calabria Company organized a meeting with the students of the Istituto Comprensivo “G. Moscato” by Hen (RC), where the Station Commander explained to the kids what bullying means and what it is the characteristics of the bullywho are the actors in a bullying episode: from the bully, to the victim, to the spectators.
In addition, the Carabinieri recalled what type of consequences one faces in the case of behavior against the law and also illustrated the main crimes that a bully can commit, perhaps without awareness of the criminally relevant consequences, if aggressive behavior appears. .
The most common crimes were then illustrated, such as beatings, injuries, threats, theft, extortion and damage, as well as persecutory acts; particular attention was paid to the internet and mobile phones, delving into the issues of defamation and the dissemination of videos and images with sexually explicit content. Furthermore, the children were reminded that teachers are public officials, highlighting crimes such as insulting a public official, threatening and resisting.
The dog received particular curiosity and sympathy.”Puma”, specially arrived from Carabinieri Dog Unit of Vibo Valentiawho proved himself among the kids, demonstrating his consolidated skills.
The students intervened with questions, personal experiences and their own points of view, showing particular attention to the topic.
The meetings, part of the broader project of the Culture of Legality, as usual, will not be limited to the specific occasion but will be repeated in the future, embracing the most sensitive issues within schools, from respect for the highway code to narcotics , to violence against women and the so-called vulnerable groups.
