From Treviso to Vicenza, the Alpine troops also arrive on foot

The means of transport will be the most varied: train, coach, private car, even on foot, sometimes in the company of trusty mules. Between 1,500 and 2,000 black feathers are headed to the Gathering from the Treviso section. Several have planned an “approach” backpack on shoulder and boots on feetfor 80-100 kilometres, from Casale sul Sile, Signoressa, Preganziol, Volpago del Montello, complete with an “app” to trace the route and exchange of pennants with the “comrades” of the towns crossed. The Alpine troops on duty at the Manlio Feruglio barracks in Venzone chose the bicycle instead and yesterday stopped in Preganziol for the commemoration ceremony of the Gold Medal for Military Valor of the Great War, native to San Trovaso. «Vicenza is an Alpine city, it has been waiting for this appointment for 33 years, without a doubt it will be a well-attended gathering» hopes Franco Giacomin, in his “first” as section president.
