It’s set in a laundromat “Laundry heroes”the new series made in Modena which will be presented as a national preview Wednesday 12 June at the Cinema Arenawith an evening event, attended by actors and crew, in which the pilot episode will be screened and which will continue with the singer-songwriter’s acoustic concert Guido Boniprotagonist of the last one XFactor and author of one of the songs on the soundtrack. The evening will be free entry and reservations are already open (on the Eventbrite portal: laundryheroes.
Written and directed by Vincenzo Malaraalready author of the series “Rudi” (awarded in numerous festivals and today present on the Chili Cinema platform) “Laundry Heroes” is a real “dramedy”, a dramatic comedy that mixes irony, drama and romance in the unusual context of a coin-operated laundry where, in search of a new beginning, Fillo, a tormented young writer played by Athos Leonardi, and Andromeda (Nicole Soffritti) budding musician with a complex past who works as a clerk in a video store. Giving life together with them to this sort of urban microcosm are other “disoriented” existences that find shelter from the daily chaos right in the laundry room.
The project, produced by Scirocco Barocco Creation and the associated producer Roberta Sghedoniwith the support of the municipal administration, the Euphonia association and local partners.
“Laundry heroes” was filmed in recent months in some of the iconic locations in the center of Modena, in particular the Tobacco Factory and the historic video store Video Bif, and in Sassuolo (the “Lava Più Honey” laundry). In the first episode, together with the protagonists Athos Leonardi and Nicole Soffritti, they acted Anna Maria Pignatti, Giovanni Tosi, Silvia Rossi, Giovanna Benatti, Alberto Fidani, Christian Terenziani, Filiberto Basile.
The creation of the series involved a crew of 15 people, all Emilia-Romagna cinema professionals, also with a view to valorising many local figures who have already been working on a permanent basis in national-level productions for some time. The soundtrack that accompanies the story is also fundamental, with original music written and composed by Diego Salvatori, and a song by the emerging singer-songwriter Guido Boni. The crew is made up of Piernicola Arena (photography director), Matteo Manghi (room operator), Lorenzo Ferrari (editor of the episode and assistant photography department), Nadia Righi (set designer), Stefania Rizzo (editing secretary), Fabio Vassallo and Alberto Marras (sound engineers), Beatrice Zorz and Erika Poltronieri (makeup artists), Carlo Alberto Magnani (production manager), Alessandro Palleri (photography department assistant), Sara Albano (photography department assistant) Massimo Vezzelli (data manager), Andrea Pasqualetti (sound engineer and final audio mixing), Carlo Foschi (still photographer).
