Continue the “question and answer” of the policy regarding the operation carried out by some local police officers at the Municipal Villa of Cerignolawhich led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Egyptian national.

This is the statement released by the activists of the Five Star Movement of Cerignolain response to statements made on the subject by Gianvito Casarella, FDI Cerignola.

“The 5 Star Movement responds to the comments of Gianvito Casarella, by Fratelli d’Italia, reiterating the critical importance of Local Police operations for the safety of public places, in particular those frequented by families and minors. The safety of these spaces should not be underestimated or derided.

The recent arrest in the municipal park, even if it involved an individual with substances for personal use, underlines the continuous commitment to preventing harmful behaviors that influence the perception of safety and the quality of community life.

Our Administration is committed to maintaining transparent and open communication, enhancing the actions of our Police forces who constantly work for the safety of citizens. We will continue to support these operations, working with integrity regardless of their size.

Despite this, some members of Fratelli d’Italia have chosen to criticize the work of our traffic police, downplaying the incident following the judge’s decision to declassify the crime.

For Fratelli d’Italia it seems acceptable that such behavior takes place in public spaces such as the Villa Comunale, a position that is clear from their recent statements.

This attitude raises serious questions about their vision of legality and public order. We ask ourselves what Fratelli d’Italia’s real priorities are for the safety of our common areas, and what the implications are for the safety of citizens, especially the youngest.

We invite everyone, including those who use the press, to seriously consider the importance of supporting those who protect our safety. We remain dedicated to constructive dialogue and continually improving safety to make our city safer and more welcoming for all.”
