Delayed flight on the Trieste – Catania route: two Syracusans receive 500 euros in reimbursement

The Justice of the Peace of Catania intervened on the issue and, a few days ago, ordered that Ryanair will have to make the payment of 500 euros to the two passengers.

The Trieste Catania flight was delayed by more than 7 hours, changing all previously planned plans. Instead of landing at 5.35pm, as scheduled, the flight only arrived at Catania airport at 01.32am the next day. A delay of almost seven hours for two men from Syracuse, which occurred on May 5, 2023, which brought a lot of inconvenience to the two travelers and other passengers on the flight.

The Justice of the Peace of Catania intervened on the issue and, a few days ago, ordered that Ryanair will have to make the payment of 500 euros to the two passengers.

“The Justice of the Peace of Catania – they comment from ItaliaRimborso, which gave support to passengers – has applied Community Regulation 261/2004, which protects air passengers even in cases of flight delays. In fact, beyond three hours of delay, passengers can request financial compensation. In this case there were no circumstances of strike or adverse weather conditions that affected the air route”.
