With a note dated 30 April 2024, the Councilors of the Fourth Municipality intended to ask the Electoral Service of the Municipality of Messina what fate will be left to the voters of the sections of the G. Galatti school (from n. 111 to n. 118), mostly residing in the areas between Via Tommaso Cannizzaro and Piazza del Popolo.
The Department, which promptly responded to the aforementioned request, communicated that the voters of the Cannizzaro-Galatti school complex, currently closed to adapt to the safety requirements established by current legislation, will be able to exercise their right to vote in the premises of the “Mazzini” school complex. -Gallo”, located in Via Natoli n. 81.
The Councillors, careful as usual to meet the needs of the citizens of the historic centre, have also forwarded to all the school complexes involved in the electoral operations (falling within the IV Municipality) a request aimed at a reconnaissance of the possible presence of architectural barriers, to evaluate whether interventions to reduce the aforementioned are necessary, in view of the European elections on 8 and 9 June. It is, in fact, appropriate, in the opinion of the Councilors, to know within a reasonable margin of time the existence of lifting systems or elevators to be maintained in advance, in order to intervene promptly and allow all voters to easily access the polling station and vote. .
