The famous American artist will sing in the arena built in the heart of the Borgo Turrito vineyards
The Foggia area is the only stop in central-south for the American singer’s world tour
FOGGIA – In 1995, radios around the world launched a song destined to become a generational soundtrack for millions of people: that song is called “(what if God was) One Of Us”. The voice – soft, scratchy, beautiful – is that of Joan Osborne, American singer nominated 8 times for the Grammys and with several platinum records achieved in her career. For her world tour, Joan Osborne Wednesday 26 June will be in Foggia, in the large arena built in the heart of the Borgo Turrito vineyardsin Borgo Incoronata. A concert-event organized by Borgo Turrito in collaboration with the Moody Jazz Cafè. The only concert of the American artist in the whole of Southern Italy will be hosted in the very heart of Tavoliere, caressed by the light and fresh wind that arrives from the Bosco Incoronata Regional Park. A “concert in the vineyard”, with Joan Osborne (vocals and guitar) in a lineup with Jono Manson (second voice and guitar), Jon Graboff (guitar and pedal steel) and Riccardo Maccabruni (piano, organ and accordion). The event is an integral part of a series of events that will characterize the summer of Borgo Turrito, in the historic rural Foggia citadel of Borgo Incoronata, a place that enjoys a cooler and more ventilated microclimate than the nearby capital.
“We explained to Nino Antonacci, founder of the Moody Jazz Cafè”, says Luca Scapola, owner of Borgo Turrito, “the project that we are carrying out especially in recent years, based on bringing wine lovers together through the proposal of experiences and not only food and wine but also cultural events, ranging from music to art, in all its forms”. Two years ago, on her YouTube channel, the American artist published a remastered version of “One of us” which has already totaled around 80 million views (). That “flagship song”, present in the soundtrack of “A Week from God” (film with Jim Carrey, Jennifer Aniston and Morgan Freeman), is however only the spearhead of a career in which Joan Osborne was the protagonist of 12 album and a musical journey around the world made up of very rich sounds of country, blues, pop, folk, rock and soul.
