Friday 10 May at 8.30 pm in the Evangelical Baptist church in Viale Grigoletti in Pordenone, the Secretariat of the Christian Churches of Pordenone and Portogruaro invites the communities to join together to bear witness
announcement, given to the women in front of the empty tomb, ran through the streets of Jerusalem to reach the disciples disheartened by the death of their Master in whom they had placed so many expectations and hopes: from those first listeners, women and men, it crossed regions and centuries until we reach our today. From one mouth to another, from one testimony to another, enriched by the experience of different people and communities, it still challenges us with the same amazement and the same hope. This is perhaps the truest meaning that the meeting that Christians of different ecclesial, linguistic and social origins want to convey to those who join them in commemorating together the announcement of Easter and the meetings of the Risen One.
After having acclaimed: “Christ is risen! He is truly risen” in their respective communities, on March 31st the Catholics and Evangelicals and on May 5th the Orthodox, on May 10th they chose to renew this joyful announcement by meeting at 8.30 pm in Pordenone , in the Baptist church of Viale Grigoletti.
Symbols, songs, prayers of different traditions come together in a common liturgy that gathers around the Word and becomes a lived life. The strength of mutual testimony, the desire to manifest a unity created by the Spirit in the hearts of believers make the common search to bring this truth that shocks and gives meaning to existence to today more real and, together, strengthen the faith of same prayers.
What does it mean to spread the message of the Resurrection today? How can we ensure that it overcomes the darkness and suffering of many, so that it can bring paths of communion, peace and dialogue to a bewildered and fragmented humanity?
A research that goes beyond rituality, although rich in celebration, which finds concrete support and hope of realization even in small concrete steps such as that of the Churches operating in the territory which, while waiting for the leaders to agree at least on the dates of the fundamental events of the Christian life, they wanted to carry out a prophetic anticipation by singing together the joy and adherence to the Risen Lord at a time when all confessions are experiencing the Easter season and preparing to celebrate the memory of Pentecost.
