Mourning in Ragusa, Vittorio Schininà dies among the founders of the city’s Avis – BlogSicilia

Ragusa is in mourning for the passing of Vittorio Schininà, one of the 28 founders who gave life to Avis in the Iblean capital in 1978.

Vittorio Scininà was able to involve hundreds of young people by educating them on blood donation. For years, he has also involved them in the Marcialonga scheduled for Sunday morning, May 12th.

The honor of the President of the Republic

In 2010 he was knighted, an honor granted by the President of the Republic at the time, Giorgio Napolitano.

A recognition that had also given prestige to the daily and discreet solidarity of thousands of Ragusans. He had led the association as president and continued to be, with his constant presence, a point of reference for everyone. His passing leaves an unfillable void in the world of Ragusa associations. The Avis Marcialonga, scheduled for Sunday, could be an excellent reason to remember him with respect and affection.
