Ferrara He was 28 years old Lorenzo Patroncini when he opened the hardware business in his shop in via Valle Gallare Villa Fulvia area and today after 35 years of service to the community – as he himself defined it – he has decided to lower the shutters and enjoy his time off from work.
“Unfortunately I really have to close permanently at the end of May – he reports – because after having given everything I could to my business, having no children who can take over, to date I have not found anyone who wants to succeed me. Someone asked me a few questions about how my business runs, but I immediately realized that the will wasn’t there. I therefore feel a lot of melancholy in thinking that everything I have built will end sadly. I’m selling off everything in the shop, many shopkeepers will buy the rest from me and then I will very reluctantly have to say, enough is enough.”
Lorenzo loves his shop and his customers who he has taken care of from the beginning, trying to satisfy every request and has been rightly reciprocated by all those who turned to him even for advice or the name of the plumber or electrician who it could solve a domestic problem. «I have earned the trust of my customers – she continues – who first of all believed in me and having never been disappointed, she continued to frequent my hardware store where she always found the answer to her needs . I have always been committed to resolving every situation and for this I have been gratified and now I am even more sorry to leave everything.”
Lorenzo’s wife has also been retired for three years now and is perhaps the only person who is happy with the closure of the shop because they have so many plans: from the trips they have always had to give up to taking care of their beautiful garden and their home.
