“They pointed the rifle at me but they didn’t scare me”

They showed up on a scooter around 11pm, when the Sakura Chinese and Japanese restaurant in Via Nettunense was empty and about to close. The manager, together with the employees, were busy cleaning the place, operations that anticipate the closure of the restaurant. And the box with the evening’s money had already been taken away. The two criminals then got off the scooter, helmets on their heads and armed with a shotgun, probably a shotgun, heading into the restaurant. There they found the manager who was finishing tidying up.

«They came to meet me – explains the manager of Chinese origin – they both had their faces covered. One of the two was armed with a rifle. He immediately understood that there was no cash, so he returned to the scooter and together with his accomplice they fled. At that point I notified the Aprilia police. It is not the first time that these violent episodes have happened to us, it has already happened in the past. This was the first attempted robbery of the year for us. It went well. Just a little scary for the staff. But I was quite calm. In my opinion they were very young and not even that experienced, they didn’t scare me.”

Evidently disappointed by the missed shot, the two robbers got back on the scooter and headed towards the Pontina in the direction of Latina. Their second target was the bar of the service station located just before Campoverde. Here, still armed with a rifle, they entered the business and threatened the staff present. They bet on the packs of cigarillos and the scratch cards. Then they fled on the scooter, losing track of themselves. The loot from the bar robbery, according to an initial estimate, is still paltry: the value of the goods taken away is around three hundred euros.

The investigators acquired footage from the video surveillance cameras with the hope of obtaining useful information to trace the criminals.
