SILVI Crash between van and motorbike in Silvi: Mauro Cerne dies, he was 59 years old. He was a diver specializing in support welding under oil platforms and well known in the city. The accident occurred on Tuesday evening, just before 9pm, in via Edmondo De Amicis. A Fiat Doblo, driven by a 47-year-old Bulgarian, collided sideways, perhaps while it was entering the road, against the Honda XL 750 Transalp with Cerne in the saddle. The impact was extremely violent: the man flew a few meters and then fell onto the asphalt. The first to help and call for help was the Bulgarian woman together with some local residents who took to the streets after hearing the bang.
The rescue
An ambulance from the Silvi Red Cross and a medical car from 118 from Atri arrived on the scene. The ambulance, with the 59-year-old stabilized sub, left for the emergency room of San Liberatore di Atri: unfortunately, during transport, his condition worsened and he died. The body was transferred to the Atri hospital morgue. Teramo traffic police officers were on site, led by Commissioner Valentina Lollobattista, to investigate the accident. The Bulgarian woman underwent alcohol and drug tests and tested negative for both. The prosecutor on duty, Enrica Medori, ordered the seizure of the vehicles involved in the crash and yesterday morning, after the body inspection which established that the motorcyclist died from internal bleeding caused by trauma and injuries sustained from the accident, she decided not to proceed with the autopsy, but signed the authorization for the return of the body to the family.
The emotion
The news of his death immediately spread on social media just a few hours after the accident. There were many messages of condolence to the family, but there was also some controversy regarding the maneuvering of the van. Then there are those who write like Antonietta: «A splendid, good person, always available. A dear boy I watched grow up. An unacceptable death. Rest in peace, dear Mauro.” And Andrea adds: «Hello my friend, how many happy days spent together in Milan». Cerne was not married, he leaves behind his mother and a brother. Yesterday his body was transported to the Sorrentini & Vallescura funeral home, where many went to say their final goodbyes. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10.30 in the church of Santa Maria Assunta in Silvi.
