Disadvantages for the disabled at the Municipal Cemetery of Andria

Problems of usability at the Municipal Cemetery of Andria, where the architectural barriers (stones, steps and absence of established paths) represent an unfair limit for all disabled people who wish to visit their deceased loved ones.

The report comes from a lady suffering from a chronic degenerative disease which forces her to use a wheelchair.
“Less than a month ago I lost my mother and when I decided to go and visit her I ran into a series of obstacles. I was unable to reach the place where my mother rests due to the absence of roads for disabled people.”

“Sunday is Mother’s Day and I would have liked to be able to reach my mother’s resting place, to be able to stop and spend a bit in her company – continues the lady -, but this will not be possible”.

The hope is that the issue can reach and interest those responsible in order to allow targeted solutions to be developed in the immediate future.
“I think it is my right and that of those in the same conditions as me to be able to peacefully access the Municipal Cemetery without unjustifiable logistical problems.”
