The clear 3-0 in the first leg made the return match easier: the rossoblù only needed to take home 2 sets to celebrate going through to the next round. Said and done: captain Teresa Ferrara and her teammates lose 2-3, but that’s enough to qualify for the semi-finals where they will face the fearsome Telusian Volleyball.
Coach Cupelli’s comment: “We had to win two sets to qualify for the play-off semi-finals and, after a difficult start, we achieved our objective. Half the work had been completed with the clear victory in the first leg, while in the return match we took the most difficult route. Down 2 sets to 0, we played our volleyball and prevailed clearly until the 2-2 which allowed us to celebrate qualification for the next round. In the fifth set we were able to rotate all the players available, coming close to the final victory.
But it doesn’t matter: the objective has been achieved so we enjoy the happiness of being part of the four best. Now the time has come to raise the bar of concentration and aggression, to be even more mean and compact in knowing how to face difficult moments. Telusiano is a really strong team, who beat us both in the first leg and in the second leg, but we want to improve and play the first leg away as best we can.”.
