The Academy of Fine Arts goes ‘en plein air’

THE EAGLE – Academy of Fine Arts – A day in the open air, dedicated to life drawing of animals. A series of workshops to delve deeper into the representation of animal anatomies and behaviors through life drawing.

Throughout yesterday, two specimens of donkeys and four of birds of prey animated the Accademia Park to be portrayed from life, thanks to the collaboration with the GiraeRigira Association.

An invitation to study, observation and their representation through sight and drawing.

Animals have always had an important role in art, taking on different meanings depending on the various eras. They were among the first subjects in rock paintings, where they were often considered protective bodies, represented in a symbolic and religious key in medieval bestiaries and objects of interest to many artists, sometimes to represent incarnations of divinities or demons or to characterize the person portrayed together to them, other times included in performances or installations.

They have accompanied the development of humanity and provided inspiration in every field of interest. And yesterday, they were protagonists at the Academy of Fine Arts.

Speakers: Marco BrandizziABAQ director; Martina Sconciteacher History of drawing and art graphics; Chiara CiagliaGiraeRigira with the collaboration of the teachers Laura FarinaAnatomy and Scientific Illustration e Sebastiano Dammone SessaDecoration and Drawing and the contribution of the teachers of the Visual Arts Pavilion.
