The issue of parking in via Dante is taking center stage. After the position taken by Alessandro Portesani in which he criticized the state of the slab and the delays of the new multi-storey building, in the evening a statement from the municipal administration of Cremona reached the editorial office.
“An order containing the following indications will be issued today.
The parking deck adjacent to the bus yard can be used both on the ground floor and on the first floor. The access ramp that had problems is temporarily closed to traffic. The open ramp, shored in some places, is suitable for ascent and descent. At the top of the car park there will be a small change to traffic with a few fewer parking spaces, to improve the way in and out of the ramp, increase the field of vision and eliminate conflicting situations.
Regarding the new car park, after a very long series of problems of a purely technical nature not attributable in any way to political will, if no further technical problems arise, the car park will finally be able to open by the end of May. The constant presence of the Mayor and Councilor of reference also on the construction site certainly did not make up for the construction difficulties that were highlighted and could not even do so, as it was neither desirable nor possible for the Mayor and Councilor to replace technicians, company, designers and workers. As in other construction sites, the combination of unfavorable circumstances has delayed the process, for which we certainly apologize once again to the citizens. Anyone who knows the world of public works, because it makes projects and puts in all the effort possible to carry them out, knows very well that these periods, here as elsewhere, are sometimes characterized by slowdowns and delays, even severe ones. Nobody has miracle recipes and anyone who says they have them probably doesn’t know the situation. In any case, the new car park at the station will open and the project, which we have stubbornly thought about and are following incessantly within the limits of our competence, will be realized by giving the city many more free parking spaces next to the station”.
