His has been a path of growth from the beginning, characterized by hard work and a deep sense of belonging towards this shirt, this territory and the club itself which has never stopped believing in him. From day zero Federico Baschirotto he took his Lecce on his shoulders, dragging them to the finish line of salvation again this season.
Always on the front line
There was no shortage of difficult moments, of greater discouragement and tension, but despite everything Federico never gave up, always on the front line, in defense of his colours, overcoming any type of adversity and emerging as a true winner.
It was last year, with Baroni on the bench, and in the one not yet concluded with the D’Aversa-Gotti rotation where the situation in the standings did not bode well and the danger of ending up in the abyss around the corner. Federico has always been there, as a true leader and fighter, getting up together with his teammates, showing his muscles as he has often accustomed us to seeing.
The numbers of his season
Gotti’s arrival, as reiterated several times, has certainly changed the cards on the table, turning the Giallorossi’s season around, now ever closer to the final objective. Obviously, also the same Baschirotto he benefited from the directives of his new coach, managing to find a certain balance and a certain affinity with his teammate Pongracic, both in terms of understanding and defensive punctuality, and of personal performance on the green rectangle. In fact, with the Venetian coach, the Salento team have only conceded five goals in seven matches played, with four clean sheets under their belt.
Although the goal has not yet arrived, last year he scored three, there has been no shortage of occasions in which Federico has not made himself dangerous in front of the goal (like the post hit in the last match against Cagliari on the development of a football corner), actively participating in the offensive maneuver when possible and called into action.
Now, in this championship finale, a final effort will be needed to conclude the year in the best possible way and celebrate another, historic, success together with his fans after the one achieved about a year ago. We are sure that he will not disappoint his people, being ready once again, finally rejoicing in having achieved the long-awaited salvation.
