now Trapani Servizi takes care of it

Trapani Servizi Spa will take care of limiting the risk of fire until 30 June 2024. But also to be of assistance in mapping water sources in the area and to safeguard public health by clearing green areas to avoid the proliferation of mosquitoes. Everything falls within the plan to prevent the ignition and spread of flames, envisaged in the fire plan.

The activities are all coordinated by the Civil Protection, which every day will have to monitor the activities and working methods of the workers of the municipality’s subsidiary and also check that the workplace safety regulations are applied.

If the sector of the company that deals with the collection and delivery of waste is partially laid off, both the workers of Trapani Servizi and the volunteers will be able to work to take care of the greenery and lighting.

In particular, Trapani Servizi will take care of:

  • repair of small road potholes using cold asphalt;
  • small extraordinary maintenance of sidewalks with replacement of cement bricks when seriously damaged and this for the purposes of protecting public safety;
  • verification and cleaning of manholes, drains, ditches and canals (if the intervention of a vacuum truck is necessary, it must be reported immediately; weeding of road sections, flowerbeds or similar activities on public property also using a tractor with grass cutter and excavator;
  • tree shaping and safety with trained personnel; interaction with managers of voluntary associations within which there are volunteers trained in fire prevention, for supervision during the opening and until closing of the municipal villas and public gardens;
  • interaction with the management of ESA staff for weeding works in municipal areas. Irrigation of the Villas Margherita and Pepoli, as well as the existing pots in the city from Piazza Martiri to Casina delle Palme, with municipal tankers where essential, so as to prevent depletion and damage to the city’s tree heritage.

Trapani Servizi SpA will have to activate, in support of the Civil Protection Service:

  • emergency availability procedures; provision of adequately equipped personnel for manual interventions (e.g. unblocking drains, closing manholes, cutting fallen trees, etc);
  • provide assistance to the service of connection and disconnection of water supply hoses following water emergencies;
  • carry out asphalting services and interventions on potholes, extraordinary maintenance of pavements, cleaning of manholes and drains, weeding of road sections, flowerbeds or similar activities on public property, alongside and supporting the Civil Protection Service.
