CIVITAVECCHIA – Anthony Caruana never stops and his new novel “Passaggi” will be released in September.
THE TURIN INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR
The Civitavecchia author will be among the protagonists of the 36th edition of the International Book Fair which will be held from 9 to 13 May at the Lingotto Fiere in Turin. Two separate appointments, Saturday 11 May starting from 6.30 pm, at the Bertoni Editore space in Pavilion 2 of Lingotto Fiere (stand F118 – H117), which will see him present.
The first will be reserved for the anthology “Schegge – Fragments of reality”, edited by Caruana himself and created by the authors of the Schegge series, a series of short stories – including his “A small crack” – and to follow the presentation of the book “The dress of the party” (with a preface by Maria Grazia Calandrone), Caruana’s latest novel which is also among the works highlighted for the Campiello Prize this 2024.
THE PARTY DRESS
«The book is going very well – explained the author – and throughout the summer we will continue with appointments and presentations to talk about “The Party Dress”, a novel that strikes us emotionally because it deals with the theme of death from the point of view of those who remain. Everything is set in a room and observed as spectators.” A novel that Caruana is already trying to transform into a theatrical work and which is receiving a lot of feedback, especially from the female audience between 40 and 50 years old who writes or contacts Caruana to share what the novel has left behind, the personal connection with the awakened mourning from the text.
STEPS
In short, Caruana leaves his mark again and is preparing to amaze again with a coming-of-age novel, Passaggi: always with Bertoni publisher. A title that signifies both geographical movements, of families moving to the USA, brain drain, the relationship of a son with his father, a son who becomes a father in turn. In short, emotional, life and geographical passages.
