On Wednesday 8 May the Consortium for the Protection of Pachino PGI Tomatoes renews its participation in Macfrut in Rimini with a large stand.
During the three days of the fair, moments of reflection on issues related to the supply chain will alternate with moments of entertainment, with cooking shows focused on the red gold of Sicily, to best present one of the main ingredients of our Made in Italy. In particular, on May 8, the inaugural day of Macfrut, at 11.30 am, in Sala Mimosa 2 (Hall B6), a meeting entitled “Pachino Tomato PGI between tradition and innovation”, in which institutional representatives, sector experts and partners of the Consortium will participate. Furthermore, at 3.00 pm on Thursday 9 May, some Lady Chefs of the Italian Chefs Federation will take turns preparing by hand the classic pasta shapes of the island tradition, to be seasoned rigorously with the various types of Pachino PGI tomatoes.
“This year – explains president Sebastiano Fortunato – we wanted to enrich the format introduced last year with an absolute novelty: the Pachino Party. In fact, on 8 and 9 May, from 6pm to 8pm, our guests will be able to enjoy cocktails and dishes rich in flavor based on Pachino PGI tomatoes and typical Sicilian ingredients, to enhance the excellence of our territory and the work of many families who carry on the great agri-food tradition of our beautiful island with passion and sacrifice.”

The stand, located in Pavilion B5D5 (stand 029), will also host 11 partners of the Consortium, each with their own personalized station: Harmoniz Seed Italy Srl, Vilmorin, Casa Verde Italia, Raggio Verde, United Genetics Srl, Metalmeccanica Luciano Srl, Europack Srl , Agrisementi Srl, Sata Srl, Pulisystem, Gi.St.El Plast Srl. The initiative is co-financed by the Sicily Region.
