The 52nd Annual Conference of Former Students will be held in Gela – il Gazzettino di Gela

Gela – The 52nd annual conference of the Union of Past Pupils of Don Bosco of Gela will take place on Sunday 12 May at the “Don Bosco” Auditorium of the San Domenico Savio Parish in Gela; the theme focuses on “Dreaming to organize Hope – 200 years have passed since Don Bosco’s 9-year dream, what should be the testimony of the Past Pupils in society?” and will have Dr. as speaker. Valerio Martorana, director of the magazine Voci Fraterne and member of the Presidency of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco (Responsible for Europe and the Middle East).

“We must have the ability – states Valerio Martorana – to make the young generations dream, just as our Father, Master and Friend Don Bosco did, starting from the courtyard of Valdocco, from a Dream which today is a great reality which sees the children of Don Bosco, the Salesian Family, in 132 countries around the world and which make it the largest component of the Church today. We are aware that we are always on a mission and we must have the ability, in the contexts in which we operate, taking into account the rampant daily poverty, to make a difference, with humility, method and incisiveness”.

The day includes the following program: reception at 9am; at 9.30 holy mass at the Don Bosco Auditorium; at 11 am the opening of the conference with greetings from the director of the Salesian house, Don Gianni Lo Grande; of the Delegate Don Andrea Giarratana and the President Tina Cassarino; interventions by Don Paolo Cicala, delegate of the Past Pupils of the Sicilian Provincial Federation, are expected; Giuseppe Puglisi, president of the Past Pupils of Sicily and the engineer. Giovanni Costanza, National President of the Past Pupils. At 1pm everything will end with the traditional group photo and lunch at a local restaurant
