LECCE – The president of Lecce, Saverio Sticchi Damiani, met with the Minister for European Affairs and Cohesion Policies, Raffaele Fitto, for an update on funding for the redevelopment of the Lecce stadium, as part of the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games .

The minister confirmed that the 11.3 million foreseen for the redevelopment of the stadium are now safe, as there has also been the green light from the Court of Auditors for the first decree which finances the first master plan of the facilities in the provinces of Taranto, Brindisi and Lecce.
As regards, however, the larger sums for the coverage which should be foreseen in a second “master plan”, Fitto has given his willingness to support the request with the Minister of Sport, Abodi and the Commissioner for the Games , Ferrara. As regards the time needed to define the provision, there has been talk of a few months.
