Modica, protection of legality, students meet the police –





“Protection of legality. Knowing and sharing the “Culture of Prevention”, this is the theme discussed yesterday at the Garibaldi Theater in Modica with students from Modica schools.

The event is the fifth of a cycle of meetings, which took place in some theaters in the province and was an important summary of the positive objectives achieved. The Police Commissioner of the province of Ragusa, Dr. Vincenzo Trombadore, reiterated the importance of promoting the “Culture of Prevention” among young people. The Commissioner then thanked the mayors who attended “for the sensitivity and institutional closeness in cultural, social and sporting initiatives and in legality projects with the provision of sports facilities and theaters for the implementation of prevention police activities”.

The Mayor of Modica Maria Monisteri thanked the Police Commissioner in the dual role of Mayor and President of the “Fondazione Teatro Garibaldi” for the extraordinary effectiveness of the events organized with school groups also at the theatres, as moments of great cultural and pedagogical growth as they are decisive in making students perceive the presence and closeness of the institutions.

After the institutional greetings, the debate followed. The students asked numerous questions on various topics such as gender discrimination, domestic violence, bullying, cyberbullying and crimes committed on the web. Social media, their correct use and how to defend yourself from illegal behavior. Moments of energy and fun when Gianluca Venerando aka “DJ Venex” performed on stage in a particular performance containing positive messages of inclusion against all forms of discrimination and violence.

The students of the Liceo Musicale e Choreutico “G. Verga” of Modica also on this occasion marked the beginning and end of the event with the performance of well-known musical pieces and the national anthem.
