“Catania against travel sickness”. How many times was it talked about during the season? And how many bitter pills did Catania make up for, especially away from “Massimino”? With the start of the playoffs, the hope is that everything can really be reset at the Rossazzurra, starting from the few happy notes of a very complicated season.
The already well-known difficulties encountered away from home in the first part of the championship continued in the second half of the season, even worsening the situation. Proof of this is that, in the new calendar year, Catania has always known the bitter taste of defeat with the exception of the away match in Foggia where, outnumbered due to Haveri’s expulsion, they achieved at least one point.
Overall, taking into account the matches played away from the start of the season, the Rossazzurri have only collected 7 positive results (4 wins and 3 draws) reporting 14 defeats (including the Italian Cup). The last sharp away of the season dates back to the end of December, the 4-0 inflicted on Benevento. 15 points collected in the championship away from home; only Potenza (13), Monterosi Tuscia (10) and Virtus Francavilla (8) did worse in group C. We’ll see if now, in some way, Catania will be able to reverse the trend.
