Objective: to reduce sixteen thousand attendances. The “Camminata Nerazzurra” is back and, with its 15th edition, starts again after a year’s stop. Sunday 19 May, at 8.45am, the start from the Sentierone, with a collective departure on three routes of your choice: 6, 10 and 17 kilometres.
The presentation of the event, which took place this morning (8 May) at the Stone City headquarters in Bolgare, was opened by the “host” Roberto Sottocornola: «The appointment has not left and, after last year, has decided to double». And that’s exactly how it is, because, alongside the traditional stroll through the streets of the city, the appetizer will be dedicated to a time trial that will take place on Saturday 18 May starting at 6.30pm from the Sentierone and arriving in San Vigilio. Three kilometers on the road, with a difference in altitude of 220 meters to be tackled individually, in groups of at least five people or with your own sports club.

The soul of the project, the president of the Club Amici dell’Atalanta coordination centre, Marino Lazzarini: «Thanks to the sponsors, who allow us to amortize the increase in costs, and to the volunteers for their work – he underlines -. We will be between two finals, whatever happens we will celebrate. This year we will have the president’s signature on the t-shirt Antonio Percassi. The hope is that the weather is on our side.”
About, Arturo Zambaldo, journalist and proverbial optimist, has no doubts: «It will be sunny. I wish this 15th edition the successes of previous years.” An enthusiasm also shared by Lara Magoni, undersecretary of Sport and youth of the Lombardy Region and provincial delegate of the CONI: «This year tastes like magic. This is not a walk like many others, because it represents Bergamo in the world. Atalanta makes us happy to walk together.” In the wake too Augusto Monzio Compagnoni: «A day that repays us for everything – says the insurer, one of the supporters of the event -. The city is moving and it’s a great emotion.”
On Saturday 18th the Nerazzurro Village will be inaugurated (at 10.30 am) in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. For children there will be skill tests with an inflatable football goal, table football and an area will be equipped with inflatables; at 4pm a great snack and throughout the weekend a workshop will be organized by Villa Sant’Apollonia to introduce children to the importance of correct oral hygiene.
Part of the proceeds from the Camminata Nerazzurra will be donated to some Bergamo associations operating in the area. Over the past fourteen editions, with over 235 thousand total participants, more than six hundred thousand euros have been donated.
