Bologna, 8 May 2024 – La venerated image from the Madonna of San Luca embraces the relatives of the victims of the Suviana massacre. There traditional blessing to the city that is held in the churchyard of the basilica of San Petronio was accompanied by a thought for those who lost their lives in Bargi and for those, more generally, who died while working.

Words which I am in perfect harmony with those of the mayor Matteo Lepore. “I thank the cardinal for his presence even in secular ceremonies such as that of May 1st. I also thank all those who worked for relief efforts in those days and I say to the family members that Bologna will always be on the front line to ask for truth and justice” .
For relatives speaks Don Leonardo Scandellaribrother of Hadrian, one of the seven victims. “In these days of unexpected pain where we also had to make sudden decisions, we felt the support and embrace of this city.”
Tomorrowwith a private ceremony, a wreath of flowers will be placed at the Bargi power station.
