Naples-Salerno line, non-EU citizen attacks two Sita Sud employees

This afternoon, on a bus in Sita Sud, a deplorable episode occurred, the latest in a long series that this trade union organization has been denouncing for some time. Today, two fellow inspectors, engaged in their duty to check travel tickets on the Salerno-Naples route, were attacked by a non-EU citizen at the mere request to show the ticket. Thanks to their professionalism, it was possible to avoid the worst. This episode adds to a series of attacks in which the victims were the staff of local public transport companies. Therefore, expressing full solidarity with the two female workers who were victims of this episode, we ask for the immediate convening of a joint table with all the institutional actors involved, in order to find suitable solutions to restore adequate safety conditions. Security cannot be seen as a cost, but as a resource to invest in.”
